Listed Building Consent Orders (LBCOs)

The Club has been a supporter of Local Listed Building Consent Orders since they were created in 2014. While there have only been a few created over the years, the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea have taken a major step in implementing a consent order for solar panels on listed buildings. As the borough contains some 4000 listed buildings, almost 1% of all in the UK, this is a major development that all owners should be paying attention to.

The Club believe that consent orders can sensibly handle a range of work without creating any risk to the historic fabric of the buildings and we will be monitoring the use of Kensington and Chelsea’s recent LBCO.
