MEET THE LPOC EXPERTS

Meet with The Listed Property Owners’ Club experts and gather information about buying or owning a listed property, unauthorised works, surveyance, grants, maintenance, mortgages and laws.

There will also be specific advice and expertise available for owners or managers of flats/apartments within a listed building, including management companies, and commercial listed buildings.

CONSERVATION OFFICERS

Peter Bell, LPOC’s Conservation Advisor, will lead a team of of independent conservation officers who will be available for free one-to-one conversations.

They will help you better understand the obligations and requirements of owning a listed property and discuss any plans or hypothetical plans you may have for altering or extending your home. You are welcome to bring plenty of photographs and sketches of your property with you.

Alongside these officers will be a wide range of very experienced and competent RIBA registered architects all with the expertise and experience to help bring your plans to fruition.

and discusses practical ways of dealing with damp issues.

11:30 – Ask the Experts
Our Ask the Experts panel will be on hand to discuss a
multitude of topics regarding owning a listed home. The panel will be led by LPOC’s Conservation Advisor Peter Bell and he will be joined by a Historic England representative, Chartered Surveyor and Historic Building Consultant Duncan Philips, a Conservation Architect, Property Lawyer Suzanne Bowman, LPOC’s VAT Advisor Dave Brown and Insurance Advisor Jim Sales. Come armed with your pressing issues and concerns and join in the debate.

complex task. Learn what it means for you as your property
is listed and you want to undertake refurbishment or building

14:15 – Building Performance, Keeping your home warm and dry.
Historic England

this talk we will explore how construction was originally
intended to work, how traditional features can be reintroduced
to improve comfort, and how modern services can work with
your historic home.

Learn why lime mortars and plasters are vital materials in the care and repair of your listed building. Discover how the range of lime mortars and plasters and application techniques are used to create beautiful, heritage and ecological finishes that will outlast the quick fixes offered by modern materials.

Extending, remodeling or converting your home is always
going to be a challenging experience. Find out how using an
architect can help to develop your ideas and how their design
skills will realise potential in your property that you never
knew existed.

Specialist Seminars

 

New for 2019, The Listed Property Show South West  will host four specialist seminars: Damp Control, House History, Lime and New to Owning.

These in-depth seminars will be a mixture of technical information and open small-group discussions. Each seminar lasts 2.5 hrs with a limited number of participants to ensure you get the best learning environment possible.

Half price seminar tickets for Club members: Seminars are £50 for non-members or £25 for members when booked in advance of the show. Bookings for the seminars must be made directly with the Club on 01795 844939 or by emailing events@lpoc.co.uk.

Full price (£50) seminar tickets included a show entrance ticket for one person (worth £10). Additional show tickets can be purchased via the Club. Seminar tickets can be purchased at the show for £60 (£25 for members) but do not include show entry – due to the limited number of participants we would advise you book your seminar in advance to avoid disappointment.
