MCHLG Consultation

We have just returned from our meeting with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to discuss planning policy and it’s development over the coming months.

Today’s meeting was extremely positive for a number of reasons. The fact that the Club was invited to participate in this early stage of development marks a major uptick in our stature, now seen by government as the primary representative of listed building owners.

It was also a very productive meeting. We were very happy to see hear that the Ministry wants to be ambitious with this paper, and intends to cover all aspects of the planning system not just planning permission. They are also keen to ensure that listed buildings aren’t left out, and that owners get their fair share of reform.

We will be continuing to correspond with the Ministry as they formulate their green paper and hope to build a strong relationship in the coming months.
